Philagrafika is pleased to announce the release of its ninth Philagrafika Invitational Portfolio, a suite of fine art prints created annually by invited artists and participating print shops.
The 2011 artists and shops are Henry Bermudez with Silicon Gallery Fine Art Prints & Tim Eads at Second State Press; Dufala Brothers with C.R. Ettinger Studio; Jennifer Levonian with Silicon Gallery Fine Art Prints; Alex Lukas with Borowsky Center for Publication Arts, The University of the Arts; Paul Swenbeck with Space 1026 and Thomas Vance with Second State Press.
The Philagrafika Invitational Portfolio is designed to provide opportunity for local artists and greater visibility for area print shops. In addition, the portfolio program encourages artists from other disciplines to experiment with printmaking techniques. Many of the artists throughout the program's history had their first exposure to printmaking through this program and have gone on to create prints independently. The portfolio is made possible through the generosity of participating print shops. All print sales help to support Philagrafika programs.
