Bio
Shelly Spector earned a BFA from the University of the Arts in Philadelphia, PA and studied at the Pennsylvania Academy of the Fine Arts. Among numerous collections, her work is included in the Memorial Sloan-Kettering Children's Center, New York, NY, Human Rights Campaign, Washington, DC; Philadelphia Museum of Jewish Art, Philadelphia, PA, Federal Reserve Bank, Philadelphia, PA; PECO Energy, Philadelphia, PA, HBO Incorporated, New York, NY. Her solo exhibits include work at the Painted Bride Art Center, Sande Webster Gallery, Philadelphia; and Delaware Center for Contemporary Arts. Her work has been included in exhibitions at Gallery Schlesinger, New York; and the Institute of Contemporary Art, Philadelphia. In 2004, she was awarded an Independence Fellowship. In addition to her work as a sculptor, she has served as a critic, lecturer, panelist and curator and runs SPECTOR Gallery in Philadelphia.
